Why doesn't anybody race?

yeah this year was so lame. im actually to the point that i would rather, and do go to brainerd for the weekend. i went 3 weekends this year, its a blast. Also i know what bookem is talking about, as i remember the same thing when i was in killeen-copperas cove TX. Actually one of the cops was in our group, had a white EVO. I used to get pulled over all the time by him and his buds so they would know what was going on that night and where we were gonna be. I would tell them and they would stay away from there, allow some activity to take place in the regular spot, as long as we kept it under control. I remember one night at the park in Killeen, the blacks and hawiians(sp?) got into it and almost killed a girl, put 10-15 people in the hospital overnight, and about 20k in damage to peoples cars. needless to say, our group found a new spot, about 10-15 of us. we would park across from this one diner, and sit in there and bs, snack on some food for 2-3hours, set up some races and what not, then head out. I personnally will destroy someone that is fucking off when im around, no tolerance whatsoever. I plan on being around alot this summer with my GN as well, and anyone can try it, if they want a pissed off guy screaming in their face it wouldnt be the first time for me.
What the hell happened to Tuner Tuesdays at Hooligans any way?? Me and Jason (300zx) went 4 times this year and were the only ones there. It was fuckin gay.

yea that thing with the S2k in the median happened right in front of me also...here's what i think...
Before we go cruise and while we are parked...we tell everybody that is there, especially if they are new, that there is a zero tolerance policy for fucking around. If they decide that it's a good idea to fuck around, shun them from the group and tell them we don't want them with us until they grow the fuck up...we absolutly CANNOT tell them they aren't ever allowed back though because we all know that would just reak of hypocrisy. All of us, I dont give a shit who you are, have done stupid shit in our past when it comes to driving. Everybody has done it, so we can't tell somebody to permanently fuck off for simply being in a stage we all used to be in...as I said, we just NEED to be UP FRONT...everybody needs to be responsible for everybody. Be the one to take the initiative to tell someobody if they are fucking up...don't wait and put it off thinking that somebody else will take care of it...
If all of us are responsible when it comes to fucking around and tell everybody that's in the cruise to either shape up or leave, things would go smoother...
and 97cav king of all rice...i am down for ride alongs y0...a buddy of mine who plans on being a cop does them all the time and is actually the one that informed me of being able to do them in the first place.

Yup we used to hang out at the grocery store across from Wendy's in Killeen it was always a good and positive experience the way we had it set up. If guys wanted to race they would go to the track in Belton or try to hang with the street racers in Austin -
yeah i remember hanging there, i was there in 05, when that big fight happened. It really segregated alot of the goups and screwed the whole scene. When were you there anyway? The cop with the EVO had a nice C4 vette before, you might remember. I remember that scene too well, if you didnt run 13's you didnt even bother. my buds say some people ask where that guy with the loud screamin GN went to. that thing would pull 12.0-12.5 on the track, as well as the street, on pump gas, in any weather, we used to race by the old mobile home manufacturing place, nice 4-lane concrete with 2/3 mile straight and 1/2mile shutdown area with a slight curves. Made close to $3k out there but lost $1500 of it one night racing a 03 cobra, i had him by 1/2 car, 50feet from the end when my intercooler pipe blew off, lost by 1/2 car, i was really pissed. Oh well, racin is racin and i took it like a man. Anyway i think talking to the cops is a great idea. Been there, done that, it works. The thing they like the most is people being up front and serious with them. Another thing is even if we tell them we would like 1 car patrolling the area to bust the idiots, look at it this way. To them, we are the reason they are patrolling in the first place. If they can get us in a controlled environment, where they can watch us its alot easier than trying to track our asses down all over fargo. Highest order of business is to find a local parking area, that is suitable for 25-50 cars where its quiet, non-intrusive and easily supervised.
Along with the cruises, im down for it, and screwing around a little bit is no big thing. but if i see someone being a complete ass ill hit the next exit or road and you probably wont see me for awhile. I hate jackasses and i let them know it. Dont take me as some grumpy dick either, ive been there, you get a warning then your history, been there too.
One more thing, from experience, our club was only welcome to people that were running 13's or faster. That might sound cruel but we had the audience and could put restrictions up like that. Now not trying to be a dick but if you have worked to get 13's, or have the cash to buy a 13 scond ride, you are probably smarter and more responsible than the millions of POS ricer mobiles out there doing 17's. That said, i dont care for those people to even be around, as they are 90% of the problem, and keeping the problem away is 90% of the solution. Case in point, the wave of ricer idiots in high school that have infiltrated the site recently. BUT, proving yourself, and a certain attitude can open the door for anyone, even more so for people that want to learn, I happen to absolutly love teachin people, try to do it as much as i can. and im not the smartest, but i dont appreciate a lack of respect by any means. I look forward to meeting some of you and hope the coming year is good to all of us.

GaryThe whole thing failed from the start. Only one team showed up. and it started to early. The people that went to hang out at first didn't show up until 9ish. And people under 21 had to leave at 8pm.

I hung out a few times at Hornbachers and everything was fine, no troubles and no one was screwing around. I don't believe in street racing, but a contest in the middle of nowhere where the only person I can hurt is myself I have no problem with. People have been doing that since pretty much cars were invented. I'll be at the track as well, should be fun because I'll have sticky tires next year.

maybe contact the dome and use the parking lot in the back to hangout on nights that there aren't any events going on... as long as we leave it without tire marks and all they may go for it... worth a shot...

And someone mentioned 'no matter how often you get ugly, they'll keep coming back' or whatever. Well, if they keep coming back, and keep fucking around, I'll keep yelling at them every single time I see them. I'll tell them to not come back until they mature and get their head on straight because nobody is amazed by their desire for everyone's attention. When I first started hanging out with people in the sport compact/racing scene in my freshman year of hs, I was asked to leave on multiple occasions just because of what I drove! (Mazda B2200 truck, stock) All I was wanting to do was see what all made up my hometown scene. But because of that, I developed the desire to have a higher-level vehicle than your average 17 sec 'tuner' car, and started working towards it.
If you tell someone to leave and give them a reason why, and they have a shred of sense in their head, they will learn from it, and mature. I have no problem admitting I was an idiot 3 years ago, hell, I still do stupid stuff, but I've learned to not do it around a group of people with cars that probably hold more value than what I can pay out.
If we take in the younger guys, show them by example how to act in a group of enthusiasts, the local scene will progress.

Even then, I hardly see anyone from shops cruising around, or at any meets. I can understand, because most of there cars are most likely being worked on, but at the same time, i feel like there is a big division between everyone. Imports want nothing to do with domestics and vice versa, people with ridiculous cars, want nothing to do with people with average cars, etc etc.The whole scene up here is all messed up IMO.
