Exhaust Ticket Response from Fargo PD

I disagree. (there's a surprise eh?). When the cops have all the serious crimes under control and have nothing better to do that pull someone over for a exhaust then I'd agree. But when there are meth labs to bust, child sex offenders running around, etc etc then they better get after that stuff rather than a silly exhaust ticket that just wastes their time and ours. Their job is to "protect and serve" not "fart around and waste time".Oh, I agree with that whole heartedly, but that isn't the primary function of a traffic cop. What you described is more in lines with Detectives and DEA agents. The officers that we have patrolling fargo are probably not likely to be involved with a whole lot of drug busts unless it is in a moving vehicle. Yes, they may follow up on leads from the public, but in reality they don't have a clue what is really going on w/ drugs or whatever. Yeah, they know meth is bad. They might even know of a few users. However I doubt they know the bigger dealers/suppliers for the area.
The unfortunate part of policing the drug scene is that a lot of times the small time dealers are not arrested immediately when there is proof, they always want to wait for the major supplier...in the mean time there are more and more people getting hooked on this stuff because the known dealer isn't being stopped.

Aid to Africa... LOL

Well, for the most part that is what most cops are paid to do is police/control traffic and provide assistance/manpower on raids/busts. I agree, there are more productive things they could do, BUT most are not trained to be full detectives. I personally think that Fargo has about 5 too many cops patrolling at any one given time, but being the conservative state that ND is, we like to give the appearance of safety and protection and therefore we pay our cops to issue traffic tickets.

if there were less cops there would be more speeding, more racing and more accidents. the cops are out there like they are to give tickets and hopefully prevent people from driving recklessly and endangering the lives of those who dont want to die, i.e. the innocent mom and her three kids. there is no such thing as too many cops
-
let me rephrase that...too many cops doing the same thing

it doesnt matter if there are 100 cops out , I will still find a place to get on it..

Lol no sharp noise, popping or cracking. Well im screwed with my STOCK exhaust system. Its raspy and sharp at high rpms, it pops and cracks when I down shift or let off the gas at high rpms. And it even backfires sometimes... But there is nothing they can do because its STOCK.
-
actually, if you drive in a manner that produces those noises, they can. Legally.
Unrelated note: One of my co-workers sons got pulled over in his wrx that had a Muscatell installed STi cat back because his car exhaust wasn't stock...had nothing to do with loud, it just wasn't stock. We'll see how this ticket plays out in court.

He said well, it has the large opening which means it is designed to make the car more powerful and louder....

funny thing is, this kid (well not really kid...he's older than me) has no interest in performance upgrades, he bought the exhaust cuz he like the look of the single tip rather than double tip.
