electrical problem

wondering if anyone had any advice on this one or knew where to start. I installed some speakers in a 91 ford explorer and now the dome lights won't turn off. my thoughts are that I maybe broke a door sensor when I was messing with the doors or am back feeding power into that fuse, since the radio and dome lights are on the same one. any thoughts?

bingo, retrace your wires you are using, or use different power/grounds. if that doesn't work, then check out or door switches, and disconnect each one individually.

Its the door switches. I believe that they are in the latch on the rear doors and there is a plunger for hte switch on the front doors. Take the latches out and clean them up and then spray them with a silicon lubricant and the problem will be gone.

well got it figured out, one of my rear door sensors seperated from it's mount. so now I guess I'll have to find another one, just taped the two parts for now. but atleast my dome lights turn off without pulling the fuse:>

Try disconnecting the switch and taping up the connector. That should also turn off the light.
