It has the side peices and the leg peices, but I never put them on.

I had one like that and the position of the pedastals were right where a normal bench grip would be located...is this one like that?

Somewhat. If you have a really wide grip when benching, it wouldn't be for you, but if you keep your lifts normal, it works just fine.
