jus the cam for now, like i said, 500-550whp is more than enough this year, im not even gonna paint it up till next winter, want all the bugs and shit worked out of it first. Want to do some interior and body work before i go for a 1000hp motor. still dont think im gonna put a bar in it so wont be going to the track much, thats why i went with the 4l80e, should get in the low 20s for milage, i got 24 with the GTO on the highway, similar weight and gearing.

Looks good man! Hard to tell from the pics, is it a T4 or T6 turbine housing? Can't wait to hear how it works for you.

hey dave, you see that you aint got shit on me! no but yours aint much bigger than mine. best part is for 450$ i can upgrade to a 80mm which is good to 1250hp, or an 88mm which is good to 1400hp. but, 1076 is more than enough for me. anyway thats a t6 all the way. it makes a gt42 look like a sissy girl. but you and me both know gt42's are for pansies!. haha.
Zack you need a 4 rotor p-port to even think about spooling that, you just stay with your wussy little t-4s and get ready for a ass whoopin!

I think your talking about either a GT4708 or GT4718, there is no such thing as a GT4788, because that would be a tiny compressor with that big of a turbine

                    GT4708 108mm Major 80.7mm Minor
                    GT4718 117.6mm Major 88mm Minor
                    S400 105mm Major 75mm Minor

Your right that either GT47xx has a larger compressor, but the turbine is larger
                    on the S400

                    S400 95mm Major 86 Trim
                    Gt47xx 92.7mm Major 82 Trim

Either way the S400 is going to respond faster than the GT47 even with the larger turbine because of the comp/turbine ratios.... even though the GT47 has a smaller trim to help spool, yet the smaller trim hurts topend flow compared to the S400...with comparable turbine ARs
the S400 will run out of compressor a good deal before though

It's a GT4788 is the other name for the GT4718 IIRC.

Its so fucking stupid...the difference in the naming between the old T series and the new GT series

Using the Compressor Major to name the GT's and the Compressor Minor to Name the old T series....It makes a person very confused if you are not aware

and the GTXX only denotes the turbine frame size.....whatever i guess

yeah the new naming system is gay. one thing people forget is that you make as much of your power on the exhaust side as the compressor. case in point, a gt35 may be rated for 750hp, but it has such a high pressure turbine, most people never see it. step up to a gt42 with the same compressor, and the 750hp becomes attainable fairly easily. now as far as big turbos go, these new designs flow so much better than the older bigger ones. specifically this 75 mm is the repacement for the TV8101/8102. the 8101 was an 85mm compressor, and a bigger, heavier turbine. this new 75mm will keep within 10lbs/min of that old one, and spool is around 800rpm sooner, with a broader efficiency range. also the 80mm upgrade is $240, and then it actually exceeds the old 85mm a hair. This s400 is the same turbo that Innovative uses for its $2000 dollar GTB 88. and i can have the same thing for a little under $1200. Turbo companies are ridiculous in their markups. Heres the map for the 75mm compressor. Ive never seen a map that wide and flat before. Man you can beat the pricing on these Borg Warner turbos, its really making it easier for alot of these guys to build bitchin setups on a budget. Also i was looking at a gt42/47 based turbo, but it uses a high pressure turbine, more suited to high rpm, small displacement engines, and is a real choke point on these bigger v8's. the big turbine is also very kind to the tires as boost is very controlable with the throttle.
That s366 should be a nice addition to your ride, now if it was right wheel drive you might be able to do something with all that power! Hope your driveline holds up for awhile this year.
The rest of my fuel system stuff came today, aeromotive filter, -8 and -6 fittings and braided hose. can plumb this thing in now and see if my wiring works, hopefully be able to turn it before christmas and see how much shit i f-ed up on this wiring.

BW does some interesting stuff. In garrett terms, your turbo is basically a GT4276 on the compressor side, and a GT47 on the turbine side. Should work ok with your big cube motor, I'm looking forward to seeing a dyno to see how it spools for you, etc. What a/r are the housings?

mark up on turbos is huge on some turbos and small on others, i never really have looked on the mark up on switzer turbos. only the garretts and hx35's. it would be intresting to look that stuff up.

its a 1.32 divided t6, that thing is heavy as hell, i need to figure out how im going to mount the damn thing. I am a member of turbomustangs.com, and those guys know their shit about turbo'ing V8's. anyway most of the guys with 350s spool it around 3500, and an ls1 around 3200. with the 6.0 it may spool by 2800, but im expecting around 3200 since i have so much volume to fill. at any rate, the motor makes around 420hp N/A, and as much torque. i know keeping the tires planted with my GTO was a chore, and this should be about 15hp more than that, which was around 410hp.
