I could get around anywhere except when there was a lot of snow on the ground. Limited slip is a good thing, just don't nail the gas or you'll end up swingin 'er around and smacking something. For someone who is oblivious to whats around them and their vehicle, then yes, RWD does suck. If you have half a brain and some common sense, then RWD is just fine.

      Forget that, RWD is far more difficult to drive than fwd, awd, or 4x4.

          I'd much rather have RWD than FWD in winter, RWD turns.

          alas, I'll keep my 4WD though.

            Ok, if you have experience, RWD can be driven just fine, but lets be honest tho, it is NOT the best OR easiest...

            At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

              Drove my first S13 on all season tires for my first winter ever.
              Never spun out.

              Now driving the S12. Weighs about 400lbs less (~2200lbs), and has a solid rear axle.

              So yeah, RWD FTW. To hell with FWD, and AWD is for people that can't drive. :icon_geek:

                My old civic did awsome in the winter, drove it for a month or so on and off and it had all seasons on it.

                PM me for:
                Sandblasting(I use glass beads)
                Diesel repairs or performance products.

                  drove both and in my personal opinion being pulled through a corner is far easier then being pushed, especially when your tires are spinning on glare ice...

                    does it matter? we dont get snow anymore anyways.

                    but if we did, ide take AWD. i cant stand driving trucks, the ground clearance is nice, but not needed 95% of the time

                      I drove an S-10 4x4 most of last winter and loved it. I kept it in 2wd pretty much all the time unless there was really deep snow and sometimes out on the lake, that's using some pretty wore down car tires on it too. In town it doesnt really matter, but back home out of town we get some deep snow on the roads sometimes. I've gotten stuck in a FWD car, never had that problem with the truck and that doesnt have much ground clearance either.

                        As far as going through stuff, the Subarus and Audis with AWD seem to go through more stuff than most 4x4 trucks! Then you have Jeeps, which go through more than, uh, well everything, thanks to the 50/50 torque split (but you can't use that on pavement!).

                        With 4x4 and awd vehicles listed on the poll, I don't even see why fwd or rwd are even listed.
