The JDM ZC came in 2 variations. One is obviously DOHC and the other SOHC...You CANT put a SOHC head on the DOHC block. you can put any SOHC head on the SOHC bottom end. The SOHC ZC bottom end is IDENTICAL to a D16A6 bottom end.

both of you are n00bs...there's no USDM involved at all. The JDM ZC came in 2 variations. That motor is straight up JDM y0 🙂

ok with all the retarded info geting flung around in this thread i thought you should know that the jdm zc came in more then 2 different variations....
one was a sohc non-**** motor like the usdm d16a6 just with a bigger cam and some other lil differences. then there was the dohc zc witch is similar to the 88-89 1 gen integra d16a1. then there is the sohc **** zc called the d15b pretty much a 1.5 L d16z6.... There are also carb versions or both the dohc and the sohc non-**** motors in japan.... so hah...:icon_thumright:

Oh and torbert you can put a dohc zc head on a sohc block... it is just there are some oil passage ways that do not line up perfecly so ppl will blow the head gasket almost instantly......
