Last time i checked stage rally cars come in so many divisions that i'm not sure which you're refering to. But all modified divisions use hydrolic e-brakes set in the stock position because they have to. They cannot mount anything on the dash that is not a a pre-existing stock space, also, while the braking compounds and components are open, placement is not. you cannot even move your brake petal for better fitment of a driver. also, many stage rally classes will not even let you remove your ABS sensor, only disconnect it.

Drifting is to racing as much as the WWF is to MMA.

Both require well trained athletes (or high perf cars), both require skill and technique, but one is all show, the other is not.

Sorry - I was thinking of the in-car WRC footage you see. Those have hand brake handles that are right up next to the steering wheel. Obviously different classes/preparation levels have different restrictions.

For that matter, i don't know that the e-brake mechanism/location is in a different spot on the WRC car, only that that on some of them the handle is right by the steering wheel. Maybe its a really long lever going to the stock mechanism?

If i'm thinking like your thinking, then you're talking about their shift lever.

the ebrake is in stock location, but the lever starts at a really large angle because they can't be reaching around their seat to grab it. Also, with a hydro e-brake, you can set them to only have a 1 inch movement till lock.

                                        I'll try to find pics...
