ya im thinkin i would rather have the ref. but at the same time other job apps. want to know your supervisor most of the time, which would be your foreman.
but they never seem to call any of them anyways.guess that probably didnt heop much but thats just my .02 cents

not to be racist, but hes bosnian and he also mutters shit in bosnian all the time about me and has this word that means fat ass in bosnian that he calls me instead of my name. Ive never used a sick day except this weekend, and I am one of the only people who comes in sober( i work weekends) and I havent missed a single day of work in 6 months.

Keep in mind Joel, that it a former employer CAN NOT say anything bad about you when called for as a reference. If they do you have legal ground to stand on. They do have the right to refuse to give any sort of reference at all which often times is seen as a "bad" reference.
In all honesty, report it to HR and if possible find others who can substantiate your claims.

Also put in the two weeks and get the hell out, if the foreman is a piece of shit his superiors will/should figure that out. If they think he is the SHIT I guess maybe you are a worthless employee and he wants you to quit anyways. His way of doing it is probally not the most respectable way of doing it though. If you want when you put in your two weeks to HR tell them you want an exit interview and voice your opinions at that time, but not like a whiny little bitch like some young adults these days do..

You don't have to put in your 2 weeks anywhere. It is just being nice. My step dad tells me the same thing that tjamz said about refrences. When he gets calls about past employees all he can say is confirm they worked there, the dates, position/type of work they did.(pretty much confirm or deny what was put as there work history) I can remember if he said he gives any information about why they left or if they were fired, but pretty sure he doesn't.

I delt with the same shit at Tires Plus. Except I just got sick of it and didnt go to work one day, boss called and asked if I was coming in that day and told him nope. He asked when he could expect me to be in again and I told him never, he said have a nice fucking life and hung up on me. It was probably not the best way to deal with shit, but I usually just get back at people, left them in a tight spot till they could find someone else. My advice, quit just dont do it like that.
