Mike has some good advice. Don't anything too course on the glass. There are aquarium safe cleaners you can get, but warm water and a wash cloth is all that is needed.
Anotherthing. It is a used tank, I would re-seal it before setting it up. It may hold water, but when is the next time you will have to re-seal it? When is the next time it will be torn down, empty, and dry?
If it is and undergravel filter, it's junk, toss it, and don't look back. I have a couple power filters right now that I can part with if you are interested. I moved into an apartment that only allows one aquarium no larger than 30 gallons (bastards).
Also, get a python (hose) now if you don't have one. It makes thing A LOT easier. You can get them at walmart for half the price that they are at petco.
For a de-cholorinator, Amquel plus is a great great all around product. easy to use, will last forever.
Also, I should be having some Blue Acara babies comming up if you wanna buy some for cheap. The fish are kinda rare (especially around here) and are very very pretty.
