on the ford probe the egr only is working when at idle and cruiseing speeds. so it is shut off when full throttle. so all you would be doing is ruining your gas mileage.

just do what hjermy said and clean that bitch.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall
Torque is how far you take the wall with you

Screw the EGR. I run blockoff plates in mine.

idk if this is some kind of super sweet dsm power trick or whatever but this doesnt sound like a good idea to me, unless you tune for it well. egr keeps cylinder temps down to prevent detonation and help gas mileage.

wow egr prevents detonation? i didnt know dumping hot exhuast gas back into the intake cooled the intake charge

run a egr block off plate myself, removing the egr will not affect any driveability at all. it will depend on the set up if it will trow codes or not. is the egr all in 1 or does it have egr, regulator, sensor set up? u'll have to do some research on how to trick the module into turning the light of

there are guys on probetalk that have had there gas mileage go down like 10 mpg on average, by removing the egr. it isn't worth it unless your going big turbo and standalone ems.

seriously tell me how this helps a car with bolt on's and still on a stock tiny turbo?

all exhaust gas is is spent fuel and air that cant be burned anymore. by putting that back into the cc and basically acting like a space filler that cant be burned it essentially decreases the volume of the cc with "cooler" air that is not burning. it improves gas mileage by basically decreasing its displacemnt when its working. on probes it only works at idle and low rpm...thus making fuel mileage WORSE when taking it off. why do you think they put it on cars in the first place?
