Hi Jean,
I just want you to know that all six of us that were at your house yesterday left with a ton of respect for you. I'm sure this whole situation has been extremely difficult for you as a parent. It's obvious that you didn't raise your son to do these sorts of things and I really hope that this whole ordeal leads to a different path for him.
Again, none of us that were there left with anything but the utmost respect for you.

I so appreciate you saying that Jason...I really do. This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal with. I do know there are worse things...but there hasn't been anything worse than this in my family that we have had to deal with. As a parent, it so hurts my heart to know that a child of mine has hurt others as Landyn has to you guys. I can't explain it...I haven't ever had this feeling before...but it's a hurt I haven't ever experienced. Landyn's step dad gets home tonight and no doubt it will start all over again. But that is just part of it...he is going to get it from every direction. I guarantee he will choose a different path...he already has...it's just going to take time, which is ok, because that is all he has right now. Thanks again...and thanks for letting me have a voice on here. I guess I needed to vent.

Thanks Zac...that means a lot to me right now. As strange as it sounds...Landyn has a lot of respect for you guys. He knows you have helped him out...because if this would have continued, he knows it would have gotten a lot worse. I wish I had answers...WHY...that is the biggest question. But there aren't any answers than stupidity...making the wrong choices, and the wrong friends. ALL will be fixed. Thanks again...I hope we can meet out for a drink some time...I owe you guys one.

That takes a lot guts to come on here and write that. It speaks a lot of your character. I know that you and your family are good people and that your raised him better than that. Sometimes kids get mixed up in the wrong group of people. You seem to be a great parent and I don't think you did anything wrong. Landyn still has a chance to turn things around and if he tries he can do it.

Thank you for that Chris...you guys have helped me more than you know. I have cried so much over this I don't have any more tears. You are right...he can turn things around. I will help him and do everything I can to make sure of it...but in the end...it's HIS choice. I believe and hope I know him well enough to know he is sincere, and is done with making choices like that. I know I've said thank you a million times...but again...thanks for everything. All of you guys are awesome...and thanks for not bad mouthing me as a parent. I appreciate that more than you know.

I don't think there is a person on here that has done something in their life they wish they wouldn't have. It's part of growing up. What defines the man is when he recognizes the poor decisions, and makes a promise to himself, and those he loves to never take that path again. With parents like you, there is no doubt he will find his way to better things. It's hard as a kid/teenager to have the patience to realize that he will be able to afford these fun things in a few years as long as he works hard. Good luck to him, his mom, and rest of his family. You guys will be just fine.

I vote Jean as one of the coolest moms ever. Easily the coolest on FS (and I've never met her).

You guys will be just fine. This will especially happen when surrounding yourself with good people. I've known Blake for 8+ years now and our group of friends has always been supportive of each other and although we may have caused some trouble here and there along the way, we have all pushed each other to succeed. Looking now as we are all in our mid to upper 20s we are all turning out to be very successful in our own careers and personal lives which I don't think would have happened otherwise.
Keep your head up and he will work through this and realize that what he did could have resulted in far worse consequences.

You are exactly right Nick. My other kids picked the right friends...or knew when to get rid of them when they weren't. Landyn hasn't learned this yet I guess...so my hopes are that he will get in with a good group...(he does have some good kids for friends now)...and not get involved with any more low lifes.
