91 explorer parts
-
anyone know if there are any crazy differences between 91-92 explorers? I am looking at getting one for parts, mostly brakes and tranny. Just want to know if ford changed stuff so it won't fit. and also if I do get it, i will have lots of extra parts if anyones interested in buying the rest of it from me.

well I don't know if your interested cmk, but I had thought of if someone that knew more about the tranny and 4x4 parts wanted to swap them for me, they could have the rest of the one i'm buying, in good condition cept the engine is alittle f'd guy ran it out of water and overheated it.

I would definitely be interested. PM me and we'll talk.

I am honestly not sure, but when it's cold and i turn on 4wheel drive I get a random clunk like it is slipping, not sure if it's the hubs or something else, I don't know very much about the innerworkings of 4wheel. but only the parts that would fix that, I have no idea how hard it would be, any thoughts?

i thought all 4wd trucks clunk some going into 4wd?

not going in, when I'm driving once it's on. so I never use it. not in any pattern that would tell me if it was worn in one spot, but rather randomly, it will not do it for 8 blocks then do it a bunch in half a block. I am not sure what it is, but figured it was bad and just didn't use it.

very possibly the hubs slipping. Those had an issue with not fully engaging (my 94 did and I believe Chris's did so he now has Warn manual hubs). The hubs are supposedly rebuildable but I'd have to find the link here with the bearing info (cheaper to buy the bearing from somewere like bearings and drives vs getting the kit from Ford).
