Guage install help.

air/fuel - why do you need a blinky light show?
oil pressue - good idea
water temp - stock isn't good enough?
volt meter - why?
not trying to tell you to avoid gauges completely... but there are some that just aren't necessary

He plans on putting a turbo in his civic, so the a/f might be worth it. Volt meter is just for looks.

a/f is just a dancing light show. get a wideband and it would be worth it. i have an a/f gauge but i got it so cheap that i am gonna put it in for the heck of it.

Mine were cheap

I paid $100 for my Oil preasure, a/f, and volt. water temp was $55. but i baught tuftes pod out of the hatch and am installing it in my civic so i need them to fill in the holes, plus they look better than nothing.

Some people on honda-tech told me i can just splice into the existing harness for the water temp, and oil preasure sending units and dont have to replace the sensors.

Ok, this is what i found out on ht.

Air/Fuel ---> Black wire: Any ground Red Wire: Thick red wire or thick black with yellow stripe on 3 prong conector for ignition Purple: Thick solid white wire on the middle conector of the ecu.

Oil Preasure ---> Tap into the existing harness and black and red are the same.

Water Temp ---> Tap into existing harness and black and red are the same

Volt ---> black wire: neg on battery, red to ignition.

I ghetto wired all of my street glow, my neons and shit back in the day and as I drove to the twin citeis the shit started on fire, iw as like OMG and i pulled off, and had to un hook everything. Not a big fire, but there was smoke, and the speaker wire i twisted togther was shot.

This is actually a very smart way to wire the guages. This will have them light up when i turn the ignition on, it will have them hooked in parallel power wise and requires less running of wires under the dash which equals less mess.

You know there will be a difference in power delivered to the when running in parallel.
Read up on ohm's law before killing your car

All the guages will be at a different brightness. the first guage wired will be brighter than the last guage wired, since all the other guages are using the power.

Look at his diagram, the guage on the right will get more power than the guage on the left.
