My dad has the water down now. Still holding steady in Heritage Hills. Been that way since this am. Good sign for Fargo. Not sure if the other house is still making it.

Thanx Jim (63Vette) for the picture, bottom left house

My brother and i hauled sandbags Thursday and Friday to help build up the sandbag dike on so 2ND st near so river shore DR in moorhead. We have 6 sump pumps, a big gas powered pump, and a generator with 30 gallons of gas setup. :icon_cheers:

Anyone here live in this neighborhood? :icon_scratch:

Oh a friend of mine heard from a guy that heard his mailman say that the City knows the dikes are going to fail and they just don't want people to panic.

my cousins best friends sister who is the mayors mistress, told me that Fargo is actually planning on sabataging the dike for flood inssurance money.

                    Compared to your accurate info?

DelSlow: "I live by the water treatment plant so im good. If we go under you'll all fucked."

Then the DelSlow: "does anyone have spare sandbags" post

Then you ended up leaving right? Yes you are the source of truth. Pffffftttttt.

If you guys think every dike is going to make I think you're wrong..... I hate to say it, but something will fail somewhere before this is done. Do the city officials know it, probably, would they say it, never. These dikes have never been tested to these pressures and the extra weight we have on top of them.

if they build it right its got a chance, for every foot you raise it build it out 2 feet.

                          we'll see.

I wont believe it until DelSlow says it is so!

                            heheh 🙂

Seriously though, Bill is right. The dikes are not even being stressed that hard yet and have to take a week more. It will be a miracle if they all hold.

I am more concerned about the permanent earthen dikes. The ones with how many extra pounds of sand on them.

I ended up leaving for the night because of...drum roll...misinformation. I got a knock from the FPD telling me to evac, then later I find out it wasn't for my 'area.'

                                Swing and a miss.

Look at it this way, why hasn't the city just added to the existing dikes and leave them that way. Instead we add sand bags every time there is a threat of a flood. Things that make ya go hmmmm.. hmmmmm.....

But wtf do I know.. I drive a Mustang

                                      Well, on a lighter note.

I was at Michelson Park today with about 200 other people and we were going to town raising the bags they had there. After about 4 hours or so, the NG/City of Fargo engineers measured it and said "Holy crap why are we doing this?" Apparently with all the help that people were giving it was no built to about 45'.
