How do you have to pay to have emails sent? Is this something new that they have just done? Probably explains why i haven't been getting them sent to me within the past couple weeks lol

You don't have to pay to send and receive emails. You have to pay for a product that you put on the email server that allows the blackberry to sync with the email server.

When I was looking at prices of this.. its spendy as fuck and not worth it at all.

From what I've been reading and the research I've done.. there isn't a workaround to get emails from a Microsoft Exchange email server to a blackberry. If there is, im all ears.

There is stupid ways of doing such as fowarding the Exchange emails to a service like gmail or hotmail, then having the blackberry sync with that email. But thats rigged and VERY unprofessional when dealing with clients.

So.. thats my reasoning for ruling out the blackberry.

I have had the new palm treo pro for a couple of months now, I had a older treo with the palm OS on it before that. My advice is to avoid windows mobile OS like the plague. Other than the windows OS I like the new Treo a lot. I use the touch screen all the time, I think it's a real advantage over the non-touch screen phones. if I had to do it over again, I'd get the new Palm Pre with the linux based OS. It's gotta be better than this glitchy win mobile stuff.

Is the Palm Pre offered with verizon though or is it Sprint only? I looked on the verizon website and they do not have it listed.

I've had WM phones for the past 4 years or so, and swear by them...

It really depends on what you are going to use them for...

          Samsung i730
          Samsung i760
          Samsung i910
          Motorola Q
HTC Touch Pro on the way....

              Sprint only, for 6months - 1 year

                That's what I thought.

My main use is going to be texting / Internet / Email and the obvious calling people. Camera is nice as well but most of that so Im not worried.

So basically anything will work.. I just want some feedback and some good phones. Durability, Usuability, etc.

If you want Durability... Motorola FTW.

My Q got ran over by a mercedes S500 going 55mph and still worked perfectly. It got great signal too...

Do you want a smart phone or a pda phone?

My 700wx has taken a beating and there are hardly any scratches on it. It's been through hell, including getting wet, thrown, etc. I won't go without WM for awhile, too many advantages. I can sell you my used phone so I can buy a new one 🙂 haha

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

700's should be dirty cheap on ebay, in the $50-100 range new.

So.. Here is what I'm looking at:

No Blackberry -- Paying to have ur emails sent is gay as aids
                                Palm Treo
                                Motorola Q

Out of the treo and the Q, which do you guys like better?

EDIT: nm....read the rest of the thread. You don't HAVE to have Blackberry Enterprise Server. You can send/receive emails just fine w/o it as well as sync to Outlook/facebook/whatever for calendars/tasks/etc... Just have to plug in to do so (or do it via bluetooth)

Auto Starts from $200 Installed! Lifetime warranty.

No.. It's not verizon that does it.. it's the way a blackberry is designed.

In order for an email server to be able to sync your emails to the blackberry unit, a Blackberry Enterprise Server is required.

                                  http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/server/exchange/

Look at the pricing.. it is so unrealistic.

Now... Email providers such as gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc.. Have this service available for you but if your company runs their own Email server, you have to have this product in order for blackberry's to sync.

In my case... FAIL. I'm not wasting my time, money, or breathe on trash like that.

edit... saw your edit. yea. you can do it that way.. but that defeats the purpose if ur at ur PC anyway. in my case.. i need it to be sync'd while im out and about as i work remotely.
