Is this another common problem with DSMs?

yeah the cold is tuff for reverse sometimes but i have had the problem without the extreme cold, just put it in fourth and let off the clutch just a very little bit, and then put it in reverse quick, works everytime man
as far as the syncromesh, i wouldnt go with penzoil, i dont know if the put perafin in there like they do with there oil, but if they do it is no good, it is like a wax that will coat the gears, and builds up. i have seen some bad stuff happen to motors with penzoil!
NO PENZOIL! haha

I think I am going to try some Pennzoil Syncromesh. I have read on dsmtuners that it works well and is about $5 cheaper per bottle than the GM stuff even though it is the same stuff.i have no idea..... i was just thinkin they probably would put parafin in there

I agree...penzoil does not make very good oil. It just makes a mess. I have heard the same thing(no proof though) of havoline their products.

cheaper is generally not better, there is probably just more shitty addatives to make it cheaper!
