I have to say i am quite surprised.... Luke and I figured the complete Granny setup would weigh around 30lbs more than the complete NA IRS setup.... we were wrong......... in a good way!

YES... I did forget to take the rotors off the IRS, but i also forgot to weigh the subframe and diff retaining caps... so it would be about a wash. And YES, I zeroed the scale with the weight of the lumber in the IRS pic

So...

first stock open(welded) NA IRS

and weight of 220lbs

now the complete 8.8 axle (its cold and i breathed... lol)

and a weight of 135lbs

plus complete Granny TA mounting kit

and a weight of 56lbs

So 220lbs for the IRS

and 191lbs (135+56) for the solid 8.8

~30lbs really was surprised as i was saying

I am guessing a TII IRS setup is going to be what? 10lbs heavier? more or less than that?

anyway, thought you guys would be curious to see some actual numbers....

out of a fox with these changes

billet 9" housing ends
forged 9" style 31 spline axles
o-ring style 9" axle bearings and retainers

supposed to support 1000whp on gasoline with forced induction so it should support enough for me on e85

got my IAT moved to the back of the intake so you cant see it or the wiring.
Also got NASTY billet rails, they are O-ring instead of NPT, and for the really short ls3/ls7 injectors

got most my fueling stuff done tonight, just have to run one line up

it is a single -8 to the front...that Y's into 2 -6's and one feeds each rail

you will see like absolutely no plumbing in the engine bay.... just one line coming in the back of each rail with a plug on the front end

nothing but the tip of the FPR sits lower than that spare tire well. pic is deceiving too, more than there seems

no more IRS either so it wont do the crazy squat like it used to on launch
