My favorite part is the owner of the car, who went 60k without changing the oil, says:

They recommend changing the oil at 2500 miles for the cleaning cycle. Doesn't it worry anyone to have non-syn oil in there for that long???

Yea, that would be my worry too :drunken_smilie:

Wait? We're supposed to change the oil at 60k? I thought it was only the blinker fluid?

impressive it's still going after that long. there's no saving that engine though. i'm sure all the bearing and journals are well on their way out along with multiple other parts that have been exposed to debris circulating through the oiling system.

I'm impressed that he knew enough to top it up on oil during this time, but not do an oil change at all. Completely forgetting or a lack of knowledge on this stuff would be much more excusable than just not doing it for whatever reason, he deserves to buy a new engine.

Well considering vanos controls valve timing not cam profile it would safe to say there not comparable.
