This is in RYM, because it is a BMW, and I can only envision where Eurofan or the rest will take this :icon_shaking:

Wait? We're supposed to change the oil at 60k? I thought it was only the blinker fluid?

impressive it's still going after that long. there's no saving that engine though. i'm sure all the bearing and journals are well on their way out along with multiple other parts that have been exposed to debris circulating through the oiling system.

I'm impressed that he knew enough to top it up on oil during this time, but not do an oil change at all. Completely forgetting or a lack of knowledge on this stuff would be much more excusable than just not doing it for whatever reason, he deserves to buy a new engine.

i know you are just trying to troll, but i was wondering if you actually had an opinion on that.

[PS: vanos is old hat. BMW rolls valvetronic now, at least on non-M engines. I've stopped paying attention to their latest gadgets, to be honest].

Well considering vanos controls valve timing not cam profile it would safe to say there not comparable.
