How can I remove corrosions on my battery post? I have tried cleaning it with baking soda, but it doesn't work. Thanks

Use a battery post/terminal cleaner brush. Like the wire brush that fits over the battery post and spin it. IT WORKS PERFECT

Here is a link to one if you are not sure what Im talking about:

it may sound carzy, but my dads old mechanic told him the way to get rid of "corrosion" on a battery is to use COCA COLA i guess it eats it right up, i did it on my old battery in my sable and it worked pretty good, kinda ghetto but it's a thought 😛

I heard that if you get it really wet, and then hold on to the ground while you lick the postive post it zaps it right off...

tin baking soda doesnt get rid of the corrosion it just neutralizes the acid...

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

degreaser and a battery post cleaner, coke only works as good as water, but it also attracts ants. 🙂 I asked a master tech this same question this past summer.

Mythbusters yesterday covered this....soda and water was far superior to Coca Cola for removing the deposits, however the only way to get them "clean" was with a wire brush or a terminal cleaner.

wd-40 and then coat it with vaseline to protect it.

I had a problem with corrosion on my battery terminals for years. I had my car in the shop at an Interstate Battery store when they determined it was bad, and they installed felt washers along with the new battery. I've had no corrosion problem at all since then. Those washers are less than $3.
