Mythbusters yesterday covered this....soda and water was far superior to Coca Cola for removing the deposits, however the only way to get them "clean" was with a wire brush or a terminal cleaner.

I said Degreaser and a pressure washer enough said............... NO one needs to post !!
Why pour pop on it ? then it will get sticky.. Do what I said..

wd-40 and then coat it with vaseline to protect it.

I had a problem with corrosion on my battery terminals for years. I had my car in the shop at an Interstate Battery store when they determined it was bad, and they installed felt washers along with the new battery. I've had no corrosion problem at all since then. Those washers are less than $3.
