^Would highly doubt it. Those are tough motors, but I dont think they are that tough, 1000hp in a diesel is way more impressive to me then 1000hp in a gas car.

^ I always thought diesel's would be a lot easier to make that kind of power. One thing i've always wanted to build is a 2500 Ram with a 24V cummins and 6 spd.

Same here. I always though it was WAY more easier to make turbo deisels with big power.

that is probably because it is easier, but i never knew they put that motor in the f650s, that would probably explain why when i was looking under the hood of a 02 f250 and they had the belt configuration printed on the radiator shroud for a 5.9l cummins...

Most of the big power diesels are stock blocks just head studs and headgaskets.

There are 2 trucks in the area that I know about that have built motors with a bunch of goodies.

You can make power really really quick for a cheaper price on a diesel then a gas truck(chip, intake, exhaust). But when you want to start going for the like 500ish+ it get extremely expensive extremely fast. I know modding anything is expensive especailly when going for lots of power. You have to remember diesels dont rev near as high as gas motors so it takes more of the factors that gain power then other cars.

                        ^It would not suprise me.

I talked to my dad, he said both the hardcore modded trucks in the area are running fully built motors(custom built injection pumps, camshafts....) one is 630whp and the other is 718whp. He also said even at that level you need a built motor.

that is the same motor used in the 3/4 and 1 ton 12 valve dodges.... (94-98.5)
the first gen motors (89-93) were nearly identical cept small changes like the position of the top piston ring and they didnt use an inline Bosh pump like the 2nd 12 valve pickups did, they used a rotary style pump

In 98.5 they switched to the 24 valve which is essentially the same block with a 24valve head and different fueling

and i would not be suprised in the least if that is a stock block .... at all

usually what is done is flow work on the head and O-ringing the head, and studs

do you realize how easy it is to get 800hp/1200fts + out of a 12 valve or 24 valve?? the problem is building your drivetrain to sustain this

once more is learned about the common rail system the power potential will be that much more

stock equipment in the f650 and a 3/4 ton dodge...... seems like an easy choice:icon_scratch:

uhh i def dont know about that..... i read religiously on a hardcore cummins forum.... and 450 is no problem even on a tiny ass 9cm2 hx35

my pickup would be at 550 wheel easily with a set of injectors, delivery valves, and governor springs and no head work or anytyhing... i cant do this becasue the converter and trany will not support the TQ created

Typically the 24 valves are putting down 425-460hp and 800-860 ft lbs w/ just a programmer and exhaust.

I ran my truck twice last year stock 16.3, programmer and exhaust 14.7. 7200lbs w/ me in it, definate drastic power increase w/ minimal mods.
