Hello. I was wondering if anybody had a security lug for a fourth-gen F-body that I could borrow. I misplaced mine and I need to swap rims. Thanks.

To clarify, I just need to borrow the socket to get the funky lug nut off with.

Considering as far as I know each car has a different one...that's why they're security lug nuts, no one else can take it off. When I used to work at Fleet Farm, we had a special socket with reverse threads so when this happend we could get them off, however that lug nut is pretty well toast afterwords and it's a pain in the ass...

Here a a couple of shots of the nut in question. It basically has four regular sides and a part circle.

Ohhh one of those 😞 id try some sockets that are a lil bigger and carefully try to loosen it, if all else fails dremel the proper socket to match.

take a 12 pt socket that is almost the same size and hammer the SOB on the lug nut. You may find someone with the same key, but not real likely. Ruin the 4 "security" lugs and replace with regular ones and never have the problem again.

Get one of those Gator Grip sockets. You know the ones with all the pins in the socket so it conforms to any shape. I'd say that'd for really well.

if ur positive its a gm lug nut, i have the gm master key set at work the only problem is some have went missing over the years so there a good chance i have one but no guarantee

but if those dont work i usually just pound a socket on w/ a hammer like andy said
