I wonder fi the drivetrain will be somewhat like a Subaru with the front axles coming right out of the tranny.No. That's what Audi does also, but that's not something you can do when the transmission, center diff, and rear diff are all at the back of the car.

Fascinating. I noticed the offset shaft in one of the other underbody photos, but the exhaust was in the way of the center-shaft, so i didn't see the 2 parallel shafts. I just figured the offset shaft was the driveshaft from the conventional transmission to the conventional rear diff.

Not the best vid I know but it does give you a good understanding as to how insane that track is.
Just to put 7:38 in perspective

7:40 - Bugatti Veyron
7:41 - Manthey Porsche GT3 M410
7.42 - Corvette Z06
7:42 - Porsche 997 GT3

The first 3 on that list are essentially wankery.. calling either of the Radical SR models a "production car" is nonsense.
The carrera GT is something you could drive to dinner in. The Radical has a roll hoop and no roof. The top 3 entries in that list are purpose-built race cars.
7:38 is really, really fast. There is some discussion as to wether the time is legit or not.
The absolute no-asterisks-needed official lap record was set in the 80s in a porsche 956 race car by a guy who had about the biggest brass balls ever named Stefan Bellof. It was like a 6:25 or so.
The new GT-R has heated leather seats, real glass, etc, and if the 7:38 number is real, is only 18% slower than the absolute fastest time ever officially recorded at the track by any vehicle. Pretty incredible.

they are kit cars that somebody else builds. They are purpose-built race cars that are barely street legal. An enzo has a horn... and air conditioning... and a dealer / service network. so does a 911. If you've seen pics / videos of these things... they're nothing like a 911 (even a GT3 911). Your grandmother would NEVER ride in a radical SR3... not even for 1 block. She probably couldn't even get into it.
-
I'm fairly familiar w/ the Radical lineup, I've wanted one since I first saw them several years ago. I'd LOVE to get an SR9 or SR8, but an SR3 would be ok as well...

so will this one have the onboard tuning standard like the GTR34 did? How did they add all that new crap and still come in really light? Im guessing they used exotic materials thus the high pricetag?
-
Edmunds claims a curb weight of 3,836. I don't consider that very light.

I found this article and thought it was interesting, cause it has a lower price under 68k.... http://www.worldcarfans.com/9070925.007/nissan-gt-r-priced-under-$68,000
