Nova, did you use a distributor mounting gasket? Also are your valve covers aluminum? If they are, there could be a crack causing your leak.
thats a start thanx there wes they are aluminum
duh didnt think about that but one thing my buddy and i noticed was some steam coming from one of the intake bolts
i know everything got seated but why would that happen?
oh and yes i did use a gasket ill try for some pics -
Take that bolt out and put some thread sealant on it and reinstall and torque it to spec. Then take some brakeclean to the whole area that the oil was going to. Get it totally clean and dry. Then start it up and let it run while watching it. The oil leak should be easy to spot. If that doesnt work, go to napa or other part store and get some engine oil leak tracer dye and pour the whole bottle in. Dont worry it's only a coulple of ounces. Then get a black light and hold it over the engine compartment while the engine is running. It WILL show up then. You dont need a special light for this. If you dont have a black light, just go to walmart and pick up a black light bulb and screw it into any houshold lamp. But beware you will find more leaks than you bargained for.

Today I saw the problem, and its for sure coming out the bolt holes/threads I would talk to Automotive Specialties and see what they tell you to do. I would maybe sign up for the interstate drag way forum and ask on there they, know the v-8's well!!
