I think what Zac was trying to point out here is that the one particular weld that you made didn't turn out very well Joel. Perhaps it was the lack of familiarity w/ that particular welder or whatever. What Zac was trying to point out (successfully IMO) was that the welder you used was enough of a welder for what you were doing and that welds can be done w/o the spatter that happened to you. Your other welds look good Joel (the ones from work) which leads me to believe that the settings were off a bit....which is exactly what Zach was trying to prove as well.

jesus i miss alot when i work nights....this blows. By the way why are these two fighting about welding? Isnt there something better to do? It is obvious that zachs welding owns joel but joel hasnt had much time welding if im correct? I cant weld for shit but really wanna learn how in fact i think this summer or winter i will do the daves welding for two weeks or see what they got going on up at the skills and technology on 19th.

The only reason i posted up is because you posted the pics of your welds and i got the feeling that you thought that was the way they are supposed to look.
I didn't want other members who aren't familiar with welding to think that was the case
The reason i pulled out some shots at you is because you were calling me out for a shady shit, and that simply wasn't the case
I welded those 3 beads and that was all, its not like i welded on a scrap piece 5 mins, then came ran a little bead, then set the welder differently for the different technique, run some more on a scrap piece, weld a little bead ect....
I never touched the welder between each weld; the settings are the exact same for each, and i pointed out the vertical down bead could of used a little bit slower wire speed
Ill make a vid start to stop if anyone here doubts my methods

Joel, why did you post a picture of the bird poop weld in the first place? I would have left that and hoped nobody ever saw it. You know it wasn't good because your other welds look good from your work pictures. My high school welding teacher said it best...you can teach a monkey to MIG weld. Just give it up and admit it wasn't a great weld..;)

My welds can beat up your welds.
