The more cubic inches your engine has the more potential it has to build power. Its simple physics, you cant cram as much air and fuel into a 1.6 liter container as you can into a 5.7 liter one. No matter how much compressed air (read forced induction) you put in it won't balance. Sure a turbo 1.6 might make more power than a stock 350, this is where the technology comes in, due to the design of the heads, the cam profiles, flow rates of both the intake and exhaust etc. All of that factors in but if you make the 350 as efficient as the 1.6 it will make far and away more power. I would think that would be obvious to anyone when you look at what is on a race track, just about anywhere, and the fastest cars are using engine technology that has its roots in the 1950's, possibly even farther back. You can call out all the things that have changed with engines in the last five decades, but look at what has not changed.

Wasn't there a video posted quite some time ago of some dumb ass saying he was going to do that to his evo and go 300 mph or something like that?

yep, some walmart employee talking about his non-existent evo. Thats why I think my swap is funny. "I'm gonna add 2 cylinders" lol

Im pretty sure that everyone knows that all things equal, a larger displacement can make more power......but i really think only the ppl who have something to back it up against the imports should be arguing how much better their V8s are. Just like Imports shouldn't be arguing how much better they are unless they can hold there own.....Just my opinion on the matter.

You are comparing apples to oranges... If someone used a ferrari motor in a drag car, with the time and money daves motor has into It, im sure it could handle just as much power...
BTW, his long block is definitly not stock.

Whether his is stock or not, doesn't matter...stock 2jz-gte longblocks have made over 1000hp on several occasions...hell the stock 2jz-ge with a thick hg in stock longblock form can hold 600-650hp (notice i've been saying stock longblock...reading > Joel)

So if daves car makes power bc of "power adders" and not because of the motor, then i should be able to make 1000hp with a d16, afterall, the motor doesn't have anyhting to do with it.:icon_salut:

Also, I'm sure Dave has less $$$ put into his car when it's finished than a new Ferrari costs...
