L. KING: Do you -- you don't believe Barack Obama is a socialist, do you?
MCCAIN: No. But I do believe -- I do believe that he's been in the far left of American politics. He has stated time after time that he believes in quote, "spreading the wealth around." He's talked about courts that would redistribute the wealth.
He has a record of voting against tax cuts and for tax increases. And I don't think there's any doubt that he would increase spending and he would -- and sooner or later, we would be increasing taxes.
There is no doubt in my mind that that's what his record -- 94 times he voted to cut taxes -- against tax cuts and for tax increases. He voted for -- and that's what matters, not rhetoric -- to raise taxes on individuals making $42,000 a year.
L. KING: Concerning spreading the wealth, isn't the graduated income tax spreading the wealth?
MCCAIN: The graduated income tax...
L. KING: If you and I paid more so that Jimmy can get some for him or pay for a welfare recipient, that's spreading the wealth.
MCCAIN: Well, that's spreading the wealth in the respect that we do have a graduated income tax. That's a far cry from taking from one group of Americans and giving to another. I mean, that's dramatically different.

Spread the wealth... Hmm, so does he think he's Robin Hood or something? -- I still think it's unfair to take from the rich & give to the poor. Why push to make an honest successful living if if you become very successful, a large portion of your income goes to people who are maybe lazy, people with no ambition to work, or just bad workers that can't hold a job. I understand that there are some people who are physically disabled, or almost completely incompetent to work, but, how many people you think that are on welfare that could currently easily hold a labor job? -- They should just push for a flat tax rate, but we all know that would never happen... The poor/middle class will complain too much, yet in my opinion it would be the fairest route to go.

What is McCains plan? He's been throwing the "Change" motto out for a while now too. And everything that I've seen says that his tax/spending plan will do far more damage to the nations economy than that of Obama.

It's immoral. It's illegal. If you support this sort of government, you may as well wait for me outside work and mug me, hoping to get the trivial amount of cash that I carry.
I am not against helping sick people, nor am I against charitable giving. When I sold my house in Seattle to move here, I gave a tithe on the proceeds of the sale to my Church. I don't want to assume too much about you specifically, but that amounts to more in charitable giving than many people will do in their entire lives.
I am against the outright nationalization of health care, which is what the progressives want, and I am against coercive redistribution of wealth, which is what Obama stands for and re-iterates at every opportunity.

3)since you are a christian how can you say that some people SHOULD live lavish lifestyles consuming things simply for the sake of consuming and worshipping a false idol ie MONEY while others toil their lives in the gutter, bearing the weight of society on their shoulders ie working class/poverty stricken individuals? does that land on your moral compass? or does being a christian simply excuse you for having to rationalize all of that because you give "offerings" every sunday? i guess thats the beauty of subscribing to a religion where you can break all of the rules and just say "im sorry" at the end of the day and all is forgiven. its doesnt really matter how you treat your fellow man because a "my bad" will save your soul. send that dying man to the county hospital because he doesnt have insurence, he could die but im sorry thats store policy. i dont feel the need to spread my wealth to others that dont fuckin deserve it... if you cant make it on your own... there are ALREADY programs to help you get back on your feet and keep you alive, state healthcare... food stamps, welfare, disablility the list goes on and on.... we pay for that with OUR taxes, and no one says boo about it
