What would you guys suggest for brand or kind of diff lube?amsoil sevre gear. you can get it at fleet farm. make sure to check the center diff. if its a manual all the fluid is together, if its auto they are seperate. if its auto you dont need to drain the transmission for this problem. but if you do, you need to use special trans fluid from subaru, not any regular atf will do.
to me the problem sounds like a diff issue.
maybe the transfer clutch on the center diff is bad. -

I filled the car with fluids recommended by the owners manual. Did some testing yesterday, there is a awd fuse spot in the under hood fuse center, had no fuse in it, and found in the internet that if you install a fuse it puts the car in fwd mode. Well after installing the fuse, the ad light turns on in the gauge cluster and test driving it shows no problem, so that at least narrows it down.
