    Im thinkin about getting a set of cams for my car. it a set from supersixmotorsports.com. i know i need new valve springs and i already have those picked out. They are the CompCams 915 beehive springs. here are the specs for the cam i'm lookin at:

    Duration: 218/226
    Lift: .50/.50
    Rockers: 1.7
    LSA: 108

    I'm doing this to my 3.8 v6 stang. just wondering if anyone has some insight on a better cam to use or if anyone knows how to swap cam shafts out. :icon_scratch:

      Fargostreet is not going to be the best resource for info on a v6 mustang. I would look on a mustang or 3.8 forum for the best advice.

      Installing cams is also something to mess around with unless you know whats going on, or have someone capable of doing them install them for you.

      PM me for:
      Sandblasting(I use glass beads)
      Diesel repairs or performance products.

        sell the V6 invest in a 5.0 or 4.6

        N/A is the expensive way to go slow

          I'd spend the money on a engine swap first way before spending it on the 6

            4.6 = WEAK internals (unless it came from an 03/04 Terminator). The 3.8 is OHV I think, Chris (mistercmk) my dad and I tackled the swap in my garage on the SOHC 4.6 in mine in one night.

              Why even waste the time with a cam/cams. Just turbo the thing if you don't want to swap in a v8.

                    you're really going to struggle doing cams on a 3.8L V6 ford motor.

                    I recommend sticking to rimz and a CAI. All it needs to do is sound fast.

                      Hey man... let me give you 2 things of advice.

                      1. do what you want... its YOUR car.
                      2. check with sites that deal with mustangs. Seriously. No offense to a lot of these guys, but most have never owned a ford, let alone a mustang (and know what that 3.8 can do). Check out this site and ask the same question... you might get the same response, but at least it will be guys id be willing to take to the bank with.

                      Im on there everyday. In fact, theres a thread called "North Dakota" where theres a few of us with stangs in the area. Most will be willing to help ya do the swap on cams or engine too!

                                in my defense, I dont know what you guys have or have not driven. Do I think he should do it? No. Is it really my decision? No. he wants cam help, im just pointing him on where he can go to get it.

                                        racing a v6 stang is like getting in a fight with with a girl....cant brag if you win and your made fun of if you loose!!!

                                        yes my car would loose but you get the point. LOL i joke im hoping to get some cams and headers in my car next summer when i get some cash and people would laugh at that but its your car do what you want. Those 3.8 are supprisingly potent from what i have seen.
