    Get some good tires!

It depends on the car, the power your making etc... but rev it up, slip the clutch a bit till you feel it catch slightly and then get the hell out of first so you might have a chance to hook it up

on gsr. i used to rev to 4500 and slip the clutch. Grabbed great On the rsx i t has a rev limiter before vtec so i bounce of that and floor the gas and slip the clutch. It has shitty tires. I guess Im asking just on technique itself thats universal to all manual fwd cars. Do you slip clutch more or do you not fully throttle the gas? Do you just try to burn through 1st (only first in my case) or should you start in 2nd?

It's different for every car and setup just pay for a track day sometime and try different techniques until you find the sweet spot. Oh and integra gsr whats your 60 foot time you dont have that in your sig. I'm sure all your speed comes in at the far end on the track right, not that your slow off the line but i bet you could be a lot faster if you could launch without roasting the tires.

1.766 was his 60' and a .002 reaction as well. The 1.7 can be improved on, no doubt, but its still not awful

When I ran a FWD car on small slicks, I launched almost exactly how I launched my DSM. Slip the clutch until you feel the car moving, and then dump the clutch from there. If you have a weak clutch, it will just burn, but if you have a good clutch, it should take off nicely.

So you are telling me that a mustang or slomaro with 400ish whp can run low 11's (using kevin's hatch as an example)...

                  ok

and as far as launching goes...rev limiter...drop 😉

actually, I launch at around 4-5k...just depends on how much i wanna spin the tires (my sweet ass steelies y0)

not sticking up for capitalj...but yes..if a mustang weighed the same as a civic did and it had 400hp...it would run low 11s

my point is that a mustang with 400whp cant due to it's weight...my point was just that a civic with 400whp is faster than a mustang with 400hp...if you go power to weight ration and make them the same, then that's another story

This is such a stupid argument. Weight is no the only factor. Traction, gearing, driver and suspension setup all play into it. There are mustangs with 400hp running low 11s.

The whole argument is stupid though. Like I said, there are a ton of factors plaing into it that are not even mentioned.

Without a doubt. There are fox cougars and t-birds running 12s with only 325 hp and they are heavier than the stangs.

My Capri ran a 12.35 on motor with 311 hp to the wheels and a 12.80 on motor when it only had 245hp to the wheels. You have to remember on Mustangs you can change the gears very easy and they respond to that well.
