I just axed my 5+ years of Verizon service b/c i was sick of paying too much. Fargo has GSM coverage but no native GSM providers. If you bought an iPhone, you could use some of its features here in town (but probably not all of them). I'm currently running unlocked rest-of-world Motorola L6 SLVRs (ebay special) on T-mobile 2 Go pre-paid pre-activated SIMs (another ebay special). Coverage seems fine everywhere in town.. and once you cross into minnesota coverage is great... drive from fargo out past brainerd for the july 4th weekend and had fantastic coverage even at our lake place.. better then verizon and sprint. everyone has differing priorities.. i wanted no contract, and no bullshit.. and no restrictions. I can run any GSM handset I want to.. and nobody at any phone company even knows my name.. i'm paying way less money now for service that seems to work better and for handsets that are cheaper and more interesting (there are no subscriber locked features on my phone.. and certainly not any of verizons bullshit firmware or SEEMs)
