I don't even know how you guys are comparing the Z06 to the R35......
it is not even really close, just look at the stock power:weights
If you stuck some stickies on the vette it would work the R35 on any type of course/racing you could think of....
sorry physics doen't lie........... weight FTL

^ True.
I'm interested to see how 450 awhp + technology will match up against 500 rwhp + rip-the-seat-off-your-pants-torque.
I've got the issue of C&D where the Z06 faced off against the 997 Turbo and F430. The Vette ran faster lap times, dusted both on the highway, but C&D still slammed the C6-Z on interior and braking, and placed the car in third! I can understand braking, and yes, the Ferrari interior is FAR superior, but still...
I'm not hating on the Z06. It is the best performance car for the money, no questions. All I am saying is that I am eager to see if the GT-R can take that title away from it.

Nissan has a battle ahead of it because of the fact that they're Nissan, and not Ferrari, TVR, Jaguar, or any of the other supercar-esque namesakes. People looking for cars in that price range are going to have a hard time looking beyond the name unless they are a true enthusiast, which is the group that ALL GT-R's have been made for, IMO.

I have driven a C5 from the pictures I've seen the interiors are not that different and I was pretty comfy in the C5, enough so to say I actually liked it. As far as the ferrari and the porsche go, well when you spend 20k on the material for your interior it had better be freaking amazing.

That's the thing though. The average enthusiast cannot afford such high-dollar cars. The people in that tax bracket are going to get a Corvette if that's what they want, and they could care less about the interior since it's all about outer image to most people that buy these cars. Same goes for Ferrari and Lamborghini, and Boxster owners.

The R35 has a better published Nurburgring lap time than any corvette.
The LF-A prototype is even faster, apparently, but not listed in the above lap chart.
It may be that the Vette can throw down a faster lap, but it hasn't yet done so. Nissan understood all along that the target car for the R35 was the 997 Turbo, and that that to get respect you run at the Nurburgring. They did that and the R35 delivered.
GM either doesn't get it, does't have the car to do it, or doesn't care. It's worth noting that the CTS-V was heavily tuned there, so its not inconceivable that the Vette got some of the same treatment..
