First Street Legal Day at Top End Dragways
-
im not sure what you guys are worried about, there will be a couple bracket days between now and the next street legal, im more than positive they will be able to lay more rubber on the track than half the cars / trucks that were there, being on a bike and having spun all the way to the 330 mark i didnt come back and cry about it thats the way things go at a track, so i didnt understand why i overheard some conversations about people complaining. that is all

Burnout contest? Best way to lay down some rubber.

-
Jason did a good job of laying down a bunch of rubber with that dragster style burnout lol

It took awhile to get going but now I understand why. Great work guys. The track was getting way better towards the end of the day. Better than last year. Was able to cut a 1.6 60ft and had my fastest pass in the final quick 8 race. The track can only get better.
Quick 8 cars
Me
Ek Hatch
Single turbo TA
Twin turbo Mustang
Turbo Daytona
Z06 Vette
Mustang Cobra
V8 S10Daytona took first an I took second.

I brought my family out and we were right next to what went down in the staging area. Idiots like that ruin it... -
Just Wanted to say Thanks to Charlie and crew for the hard work getting the track raceable, I'm sure everything will be better in the future. And Thanks to Playtime Performance for the Q8 cash, I was going to leave after my first pass on the marbles but Dave Henry talked me out of it (good to see him again), the track did start to come back after some hard work by the crews and cars running down it. I was able to get some useful data and got within a half second of the cars best, won the Q8, and met some very nice people.
I didnt see any of the "drama" that happened. What went down that some speak of? Thanks, Warren Stramer............Dodge Daytona (actually a 84 Laser XE) -

I would like to say that I am impressed with the attitude and courtesy everyone is offering. Saturday was NOT ideal for the track owners, the sponsors, or most importantly, the racers. Collectively, Tintmasters and Top End Dragways knows this, and will continue to learn and offer the most bang for the buck that we can to our racers and spectators. I know Charlie did everything he could to try and make it as fun as possible for everyone. By 2pm, he had completely used up his payment from us to host the event + $500.... IN TRACK PREP (not including staffs pay, and other 'business' type expenses). He was willing to eat each and every cent of his profit from the day, and go in the hole, to try and get it in proper condition. That says a lot about him as a business man, but also a lot about the race days to come. I boasted about traction and how things would be so much better this year.... I still stand by those words, and after seeing how Charlie reacted in a tough spot, I am fully confident that by the 2 day event, things will be amazing. I will eat crow if I am wrong, but so many things have gone wrong for Charlie, that jumping into this business took a learning experience (Saturday) to help level out the tracks needs.
Also keep in mind, that our track day was the absolute first race of the year at Top End Dragways. The continued rain has killed his opportunity to get a good layer of rubber down on the track. He stopped into the shop today to make sure that we knew that he was doing everything he possibly could to ensure the track runs much better than it has for years.
Thank you guys again for being polite (while voicing your concerns at the same time) to Charlie and the staff. It further drives them to make sure things in the future are so much better for all of us.
