What did you put the settings back to? Start with 2 turns out. Or just find out what its supposed to be from a dealer/online manual. You didn't change your needle height did you?

All I did was pull them out, sprayed them down with carb cleaner and brushed them. I didn't adjust anything.

Well check it out. I've seen people clean there own carbs and close the air screw all the way not knowing it needs to be turned out to operate. How dirty was the carb?

Hate to say it, but spraying them down with carb clean doesn't do all that much. I've had amazing luck with Yamaha's cleaning solution. You mix it with gas, hook it into the gas lines, and and turn it over a few times to get the stuff into the bowls, jets and all the nice little passage ways. let it sit overnight, and drain everything.

ANYWAY....now that I'm done babbling. You sure all the vaccum lines are hooked up? And hooked up to where they belong? I know when I cleaned the carbs, I missed a line or two and it didn't run very good. rechecked everything, and fixed the lines, ran like a champ.

One other thing....not be be a giant dick...but you did turn the fuel back on, right? I only ask as I've seen people forget it before and wonder why it doesn't start.

Everything is hooked up where it belongs...as far as I know. And yes, I turned the fuel back on.

They weren't too bad. A lot better than I thought they would be actually.

OK...so here is a little update. I went out and the bike started. It wouldn't rev past 1500 and I had to keep my hand on the throttle to keep it running. A few times it revved way up with no power what-so-ever...sounded like a damn v-rod too. After about 5 minutes of this, it started running normal and stayed running without my hand on the throttle. I'm going to let it sit and cool down, then I will try it again and see what happens.

Yet another update...and another question. Bike is running like a champ. Faster than ever...but still one problem. I still have a nasty hesitation off the start. It picks up after a couple of seconds though. Plugs maybe?

Itโ€™s a carb problem. Donโ€™t bother replacing the coils, the coils will work or they wonโ€™t. Have you every synchronized the carbs? Any time you pull off a carb bank they should be synced. I would probably say that your idle/pilot circuit is where the problem is going to be in. Where are you idle mixture screws set at? Did you pull the pilot jets out and clean them? Ive cleaned and tuned more carbs then I care to think about so if you have questions just ask away.

ya if they look awful(black) that means it's foiled out...replace them and see what happens or take a wire brush or sand paper and just lightly the end but try not to screw up the gap... because if all u did was cleaned ur carbs and u didnt screw anything up like u said then there should be no problem but yes if ur spark plug is to foiled the bike wont even wont to fire so i would try cleanin or replacein it, just dont get it wet.. and also kick ur bike a couple of time without the spark plug in so it can dry out if its wet on the inside
