just curious about hp...

trim doesnt really mean anything other than a ratio of inducer diameter to exducer diameter. you can have a 76 trim that only flows 100hp. i dont like when people assume trim size is turbo size.

but that is the common name people use to describe some variants of turbos......
how else would describe a 50 trim t3 comp., or a 50 trim t04e comp. to someone???
let me guess..... i um have a 42.5mm ind./60mm exd. t3 comp...... or a 54mm ind./76mm exd. to4e comp.
get real...
The comp. on my gt4202 was a 53 trim..... but is that the common name for it??.... fuck no
different lines of turbos are obviously named/labeled differently
I am glad you threw your 2 cents of Turbo 101 in there to show your mad turbo skillz....

Woaaa dont get all defensive the only reason why you are involved at all with anything i said was becuase i fucking agreed with you. I was saying that for other people like travis who seemed confused by the idea of someone using a 50 trim and making more power than 270hp.
But im glad that you also know what i know, and that you feel the need to throw around dimensions and basic math i already knew about your useless fucking turbo. Any one can use google and tell you your in./ex. Diameters, congrats
stop trying to sound so smart by telling people the small about about basic shit that you know

Wow...honestly, some people cant help but be deuschebags....

so instead of telling him to get bigger turbos maybe we should be asking what he wants from this build lolim going for a street car thats got some fast spool up and some alrite power to have at stop lights and race nights and such.... to too much of a track car. maybe see it once or twice just for numbers. the only reason why i totally built the engine is because just in case i want that 300+ hp then i can change just the turbo and stuff.... dont want a car like 1990tsi's that is pretty much useless in town. also want to be able to hook up decent in 1 and 2nd

also my budgets starting to wear thin so i want to take advangtage of the lower priced decent power turbos like the 14b and 16g but im still undecided as well as with pump gas or e85

I believe you are after something like Drifterextremes setup. In which case there is NO reason for a built motor, especially if you are on a tight budget... Seems like you have no problem dishing out 250-350 for rods but you cant spend more than 50 bucks for a turbo?

i had just a bit over 300 hp and my didnt hook on the street lol if you buy some small meathooks you will be fine. also what kind of clutch are you gonna use?i believe it has a act stage 1 in it. i havent pulled that motor to c yet. may use that if still good condition..

Look into the 20g that would be a fun turbo for the street. But i think those are still mitsu flanged so you would need a new manifold if youd wanna run something different in the future.
And in that case i think you have a perfect motor for what you want. A cost effective build that will handle 450hp if tuned correctly. Prolly gonna wanna get a little beefier clutch tho.
