Update on the stang
-
I also just finished my 3g conversion tonight. Its a upgrade from the standard 2g (75 amp) alternator to the 3g (130 amp). Now i have enough juice to power that electric cooling fan, stereo, and high volume fuel pump!
From this......75amp

To this...130 amp

I put a 3g on my vert a couple years ago they still don't charge well at a idle.Did you swap the pulley from the 2g to the 3g? That is supposed to help the charge at idle issue. I will have to see what mine does after everything is done. Last night it was charging at around 14.3-14.8. As for amps i dont know yet.

Couldnt come up with the cash for the whole head swap with rockers and pushrods and stuff. I'll do some nice heads for my next build.

Finished the job today. Looks so much better without the A/C and clutch fan. Check it out.
Prepping for the new heads to go on.

Everything installed and wired

I noticed cylinder 5 using way too much oil and almost bridged the spark plug gap so i decided to tear the heads back off. I was way too eager to get the heads on and running so i cleaned up the heads, and valves without checking the guides and cutting valves and seats. I know i know it was dumb but i had fun with the car for a summer. Guides on cyl 5 were shot.
The heads are compleatly rebuilt with fresh 3 angle valve job, guides repaired and valves cut. I feel good about these heads now. Thats it for an update for now. On the hunt for an ignition box , injectors and a MAF now.
