dead car...should be a simple fix??
-
Ok background first.....my blazer has been acting weird (what a suprise)....Every now and then when I punch it, it will cut out for a second then come back and work normal. It has done that maybe 5 times in the last few weeks. Today it did it again, but it wont come back.
Current situation......car is in the parking lot. When I turn the key it cranks, but wont start. I can keep it cranking but nothing happens. I have had suggestions to check the cap and rotor, the distributer cap, and the coil. Any ideas?

besides those i'd make sure it's getting gas

yeah sounds like something with the FPR ( fuel pressure regulator)

700-800 .....yeah right go buy a AC Delco Fuel pump and have it installed somehwere else..

What year Blazer is it?
Check to see if you have spark, and listen to hear if your fuel pump is running when you turn the key on
My first guess would be the ignition module (under the dist. cap and rotor ~ new for around $30-$40)
They usually cut out temporarily at high loads or high RPM (due to heat), and eventually go out totally

I've priced out the pumps before I really don't think you're gonna do it for under 500 bucks parts and labor. BUT, who knows if that is even the issue.

I had the same thing happen to my Blazer and it was the fuel pump going out. It isn't that bad for it to be fixed mine costed $600 because I got a whole new gas tank at the same time.

so I just went out (9:00 am) to check if I had spark. As far as I can tell all my plugs are right between the engine and the firewall. So I cant even fucking get my hand back there to get the plug wires off. Why the fuck did I take a job that depends on my pos? Any ideas fs?

thats a chevy engine for ya....pretty sure ur not gettin any fuel tho.....bring it to a shop.

Again, what year is your Blazer? I'm assuming 4.3 V6. Vortec or TBI?
You should hear your fuel pump (a little whining noise in the fuel tank). The pump should run for a few seconds when you first turn on the key, and then go again after cranking for a while. If you want to check the fuel pressure, there should be a schrader valve (looks like a tire valve stem) on the fuel rail up by the injectors. If you don't have a fuel pressure gage, you can put a rag over the valve and poke the center with a screwdriver. It will squirt like crazy if there's any fuel pressure in the system.
