tin baking soda doesnt get rid of the corrosion it just neutralizes the acid...

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

degreaser and a battery post cleaner, coke only works as good as water, but it also attracts ants. 🙂 I asked a master tech this same question this past summer.

Mythbusters yesterday covered this....soda and water was far superior to Coca Cola for removing the deposits, however the only way to get them "clean" was with a wire brush or a terminal cleaner.

I had a problem with corrosion on my battery terminals for years. I had my car in the shop at an Interstate Battery store when they determined it was bad, and they installed felt washers along with the new battery. I've had no corrosion problem at all since then. Those washers are less than $3.
