Time to buy a leakdown tester then. I'll post up the compression numbers tomorrow when I get back to the office but they all looked pretty good.

is it a 318/360 with a cracked head (between the valves)??? They leak coolant when running but won't show up on a compression test...

It is actually a 2.5 I4 pushrod AMC motor out of a 98 Dakota. The motor is a reman that was installed in the spring.

i'd say you're probably still gonna need to jerk the head and investigate...

Nope. The head doesn't look cracked or anything. A couple of guys on TCS were suggesting that the cylinder was lean. I pulled the head off since it seemed to be using some coolant and leaking out of the radiator cap even though the cap is fine. I've got the parts for it and it should be back together tomorrow morning.

Too me that def doesn't look like a lean condition, i'd say coolant is the culprit hands down

I'd definately get it magnufluxed/pressure tested to verify there isnt any cracks hiding there. and def get it resurfaced.
