AFR leaner than 12:1 or so will certainly damage your motor, ESPECIALLY if you're not on race gas. What do most people tune their turbo motors to on race gas, about 12.5:1 at most?I think your information is off just a bit. I generally shoot for a 13.5 afr. For a good tune.

Don't feel bad.... you surely are not the only one that has done this lately......:mad:I highly doubt it had anything to do with tunning.................. either a oiling or bearing setup issue....... that is i am assuming the noise you are hearing is a spun bearing
you didnt do what i think you did...did you?

I really do not see how I could have damaged anything with my tune. Considering I did not go into positive boost territory beyond 8psi max as that is what my wastegate is set to. And I was on the break in cycle so I really did not want boost affecting the piston ring seals.

I don't think it was cause by me running lean or detonation. But we will see once I pull it apart if a piston is fucked I will eat my words. -

Carnage pictures this is what I found in rod #3

If I would have had fair warning the guy I got the block from was incompetent in putting together an engine I would have had the crank cut and smoothed out.
When I first popped the rod cap off it looked like there was no bearing at all and that thin pieces were what I managed to scrape off with a screwdriver. -

lol'd at that. when you buy a motor ive found its best to just use the parts and re-assemble everything yourselfI should listen to you more often.:icon_salut:
On another note I got the block completely stripped down and it looks like I might be able to do a hone job and replace the rotating assembly.
Oh and I threw the crankshaft like it was a shot put right out the door of the shop..... Where it still lies and I will cut it in half and use it as an anchor for my canoe.

Well the Block pistons rods and crank are all at the machine shop now.
I am really looking forward to this being done.
