there are ways to use a toggle and use it in sequence to make it work. Personally i use a pac TR-7 works everytime have had for year now no problem even after swapping the deck into 3 vehicles. It works on my Alpine Iva-d300 and my Cva 1004.

then the Pac tr7 is the answer then wires into your remote turn on lead, ground and parking brake. i wired mine in near the brain of the unit and have never touched it since. go for a few bux on ebay usually.

Do you have the install guide for your Alpine head unit? It will say in there what exactly the head unit needs to see before you can watch movies. You can rig it up with a couple toggle switches like what was said, but 2FNLOUD hit the nail on the head when he said to use the TR-7 module. I currently have one installed in my vehicle with my Alpine head unit and it works like a champ. If you need one of those modules, PM me, they are in stock.

Alpine sucks for this what it needs to see is

            1. 12 volts from footbrake
            2. ground from park brake, ground removed, ground again
            3. 12 volts removed

I have mine thru toggles (already built into the dash), I will have to look at the E-bay deal to see if that would work, I doubt it though...

oh wow, I guess advancements have been made in these indash pieces. I guess is not so easy as just tapping into ground for the ebrake.....GOOD LUCK!

Wouldn't really call it advancements considering that the Alpines have been this way for years now.

Actually it is much easier to get around Alpine's safety feature than some other brands. I know Pioneer has a certain model or models that you can't do anything to make it play video while driving. With the Alpine, all you have to do is buy this magical little module and hook it up to a few wires. Like I said, I have one that I use every day in my own vehicle, and it works perfectly.

Just looked it up, your right it would work. I couldn't find any time delay relays in 12 volts. This one is a programmable processor, pretty kewl..

The instructions for this thing look ridiculously confusing, until you find the part at the bottom of one of the pages that says "for alpine......." and it tells you exactly what to do, it's awesome.

I did the same and I don't own a "Jensen".

I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones.
