have you ever looked into any of the adhesives they use in autobody. 3m, lord fusor, evercoat and valvoline all make really good products. probly the best would be the evercoat since that one dont take a special gun, just a typical calking gun is all you need.

so i got a k &n high performance filter and it was the bitchiest thing to do for what should be such an easy job. i could not fit the flange into the tubing. it literally took me 1 hour to fit it in with a screwdriver. however, I know that the k &n filter has a bigger diameter than the oem filter. Is there some techniques i should know bout that will make my job easier. Also, does the rubber ring that helps seal the tubing a critical component to seal the filter? does it require immediate replacing if the ring is stretched?

Well, I was planning on sending it away to get it socketed, but if you know how to do it, I'll give you some business. I'll need a map for my soon-to-be setup, and then we'll have to do it again in about a year when I go turbo. Let me know.

no, the subs themself aren't pointless, what fitzy was saying is that there is no way for the sound to get into the cabin due to the two layers of metal seperating the trunk and the passenger compartment....the sound won't make it to the cabin very well. There may be the possibility of essentially porting the trunk but I'd have to look at the car before giving my opinion.

There is probably a reason your the only one in your neighborhood who can rebuild one.... geez.......i knew this comment was coming  i was just suggesting a low cost alternative to running fuel injection. not everyone can afford fuel injection on a custom setup. ya gotta start somewhere.

if you want to upgrade the block get either 2g pistons/1g big rods, or forged pistons, and eagle or crower rods... block done.... if you REALLY want to you can knife-edge the crankshaft...

If it's an auto, do a converter. I know there was a supercharged 3.8 around here at one point. Was actually pretty cool. His is a stick

yeah probably some of the best stuff if you are building a monster and need a frontmount and a 3.5inch race exhaust build for a 600+hp WRX as for me i'll stick w/ something a lil more JDM

Eclipse used to have skipping problems a couple years ago, don't know if they have that straightened out yet or not. Haven't touched anything JVC in a couple of years so can't say anything about their quality as of late....though I used to say that JVC was an abbreviation for "Japanese, Very Cheap" back in 94-95 when I used to install them. I'd imagine they have gotten better over the years just like the rest. Panasonic rates really high for a couple of reasons, one of which is the fact that they supply a lot of OEM stuff for car manufacturers. I have had one Panasonic deck that unfortunately I went w/ my prelude when I traded it on the WRX. Like I said before, none of these companies would still be in business if they produced absolute crap. IMHO, right now, the only differences between CD players of a given price range is the features that you choose to be included. What one has the other doesn't and vice-versa.

it's not that hard of a job to do, the thing to remember is that often a little goes a long ways toward noise reduction, but buy as much of it as you can afford for the best affect. There is a product available online called "brown bread" that costs significantly less than dynamat and is every bit as good. The thing to do when doing it yourself is make sure you have a heat gun available (a hair drier will do if heat gun is not available) to make it more pliable in areas that aren't exactly smooth. I'd give it a try by yourself. Worst thing that can happen is you won't like how a panel turned out (do a small inconspicuous area first to get the hang of it if you are intimidated by it and then work up to larger panels...keep in mind though that the larger panels usually vibrate the most)
